Safari Safety Tip – Web Tracking

Did you know that Facebook, Google, and other companies track you while traversing the web? They follow you to other sites and spy on everything you do. It is called cross site tracking. There are a few things you can do to help prevent it.

Step 1. Open up Safari Preferences.

Step 2. Click on the Privacy tab.

Step3. Check the box “Prevent cross-site tracking.”

Another very important thing to do is always log out of social media accounts. When you are done posting in Facebook or Instagram, remember to log out. If you forget and then visit other sites, you are being watched. Ever wonder how just minutes after searching for something in Google, ads for that very same thing appear on your Facebook timeline? Cross-site tracking. LOG OUT!
